13.1.1 High-speed Peck Drilling Cycle (G73)
This cycle performs high-speed peck drilling.
It performs intermittent cutting feed to the bottom of a hole while
removing chips from the hole.
Format
G73 X_ Y_ Z_ R_ Q_ F_ L_ ;
X_ Y_ : Hole position data
Z_ : The distance from point R to the bottom of the hole
R_ : The distance from the initial level to point R level
Q_ : Depth of cut for each cutting feed
F_ : Cutting feedrate
L_ : Number of repeats (if required)

Explanation
- Operation
The high-speed peck drilling cycle performs intermittent feeding along
the Z-axis. When this cycle is used, chips can be removed from the
hole easily, and a smaller value can be set for retraction. This allows,
drilling to be performed efficiently.
Set the clearance, d, in parameter 6210.
The tool is retracted in rapid traverse.
- Spindle rotation
Before specifying G73, rotate the spindle using a miscellaneous
function (M code).
