ELECTRONIC CAM FUNCTION
The electronic cam function electrically produces the reciprocating
motion of a tracing axis in phase with cam shaft operation.
As shown in Fig. 1, the figures of cams already stored in the Power Mate
i–H are called to move a tracing axis in phase with cam shaft operation.
This function eliminates the need for producing a cam shaft, gears,
clutches, and cams mechanically, and therefore has the following
advantages:
Work efficiency is much improved.
The machine can be made compact and less costly.
The user need not be concerned with the wearing and life of a cam
shaft, gears, clutches, and so forth.
An error due to mechanical precision is eliminated, thus improving the
performance of the entire system.
