Abstract
FANUC modifies the CPU card for FS16i/18i/160i/180i/160is/180is-MODEL A to new one using
higher speed CPU to obtain higher performance. And FANUC modifies DRAM module that is
mounted on CPU card also. And you must use the system software that is adapted to the new
CPU card in case you use it.
Features of the new CPU card
• Higher speed processing using higher speed CPU
• The same outline and mounting method as the present CPU card
• Order specifications are new ones
• Applied with newly designed DRAM module
• Applied with adapting system software
In case that you maintain the present CPU card with the new one, you must install the adapting
system software and the new DRAM module as well. By the way, however you must install the
adapting boot software also, you need not to install it at maintenance. Because it is installed on
the new CPU card, when it is shipped from FANUC plant.
