The Name of Open CNC

1. General

We will change the definition of Open CNC's name as follows.

2. Definition of Open CNC's Name

1) "FANUC Open CNC" consists of following four types CNC, which are using

FANUC PC function, and these model names are expressed with three-digit

figures.

1 FANUC Series 160i "LCD mounted type"

2 FANUC Series 160i "Stand alone type"

3 FANUC Series 160is "LCD mounted type"

4 FANUC Series 160is "Stand alone type"

* The above shows the case of 16i which are using FANUC PC

function.

As for 18i/21i/15i as well, it is the same.

 Even if FANUC PC function is using as the display unit of CNC, three-

digit model name isn't used in the case of Ethernet connection.

 If other company's PC is using as the display unit of CNC, three-digit

model name isn't used in the case of HSSB or Ethernet connection.

2) "PANEL i" is FANUC's panel computer for Windows® 2000, Windows NT®

that is sold separately from CNC.

 Therefore, the display unit with PC function that is constituent of CNC

(used as the display unit of CNC via HSSB) isn't expressed "PANEL i".

From now on, when this display unit is used as display unit of CNC, it is

expressed "CNC Display Unit with Personal Computer Function".

 At present, "PANEL is" isn't sold separately from CNC control, so this

name isn't used.

From now on, when this display unit is used as display unit of CNC, it is

expressed "Display Unit for is Series CNC".
