1. OUTLINE
This document describes the phenomenon and countermeasure about Ethernet re-recognition on
FANUC PANEL i with Celeron 733MHz / Pentium III 866MHz / Pentium III 1.26GHz CPU when
Windows 2000 Professional (We call it “Windows 2000” after this) starts up on it.
2. PHENOMENON
After first setup of PANEL i and logon into Windows 2000, the circuit of Ethernet is re-recognized
as the new hardware by Windows 2000, and the following message that requires inserting the
CD-ROM may be displayed behind “Introduction of Windows 2000” screen.
3. CONDITION
When some of PANEL i which were shipped after December, 2003 are started with connecting to
HDD that Windows 2000 is pre-installed, this phenomenon will be appeared.
Also, the same phenomenon will be appeared when customer will install the current HDD image as
it is into the HDD of PANEL i which are being shipped after December, 2003.
After re-recognition is finished correctly by the way mentioned in section 5 “COUNTERMEASURE”,
the above message will not be displayed and PANEL i will start up properly.
After then, PANEL i will have no problem about Ethernet function.
If Windows XP Professional is used, this phenomenon will not be appeared.
