ELEMENT OF DECOMPOSITION OF OIL MIST
for FANUC LASER C series
1．Outline
The Element of Decomposition of Oil Mist that decomposes oil mist in resonator is added
to the C1000-E,C2000-E and C4000-E to decrease the resonator mirror pollution, and to
extend the mirror cleaning cycle. Please maintain the laser oscillators according to the
following procedure, when the Element of Decomposition of Oil Mist is installed newly or
exchanged for shipped laser.
A mirror is polluted because the oil mist that evaporates from turbo blower attach to the
mirror surface. Because the deterioration and the distortion of the mirror are caused when
the mirror is polluted, the laser beam quality is deteriorated. Therefore it is necessary to
clean mirrors such as output and rear mirror.
The element (Fig. 1) is mounted near the output mirror and the rear mirror (Fig. 2,Fig.3).
When the electric discharge irradiates the Element of Decomposition of Oil Mist with
ultraviolet ray, oil near the mirror is decomposed by the photocatalysis of this element.
The adhesion of oil mist to the mirror is decreased. As a result, the mirror cleaning cycle
will be extended, and the running cost can be reduced.
