2.3.3 Complete SRAM Backup (Display Unit)
It is highly recommended to perform a SRAM Backup, whenever changes on the CNC settings
have been performed. The SRAM Backup contains all NC part programs, NC parameters, Profibus
and FL-Net settings, Offsets, PMC Parameters and variables. A SRAM Backup consists of several
binary files dependent on the actual size of the SRAM installed in the CNC.
Example: If the SRAM size mounted in the CNC is 1Megabyte, 2 files of 512KB size each are
created. In case of 3Megabyte SRAM size, 6 files of 512KB size each are created. The naming
convention is as shown in the table below:
1 MegaByte SRAM size 3 MegaByte SRAM size
SRAM1_0A.FDB SRAM3_0A.FDB
SRAM1_0B.FDB SRAM3_0B.FDB
SRAM3_0C.FDB
SRAM3_0D.FDB
SRAM3_0E.FDB
SRAM3_0F.FDB

To create a SRAM Backup following steps shall be performed:
• Apply an empty memory card to PCMCIA Slot of the Display Unit.
• Start the Boot Menu by pressing two most-right soft keys during power up of the CNC.
• From the Main Menu select SRAM DATA BACKUP
• In the Sub Menu select SRAM BACKUP to send SRAM data to memory card.
