I.3 Firewall Setting of Windows XP Service Pack 2
In order to run i CELL on Windows XP SP2, it is necessary to setup the
Windows Firewall.
Note 1
When SP2 is installed in Windows XP, CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1 and
CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1 SP4 are necessary. Please refer to the "I.1
Installation of CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1 Service Pack 4"
Note 2
If you execute procedures in this chapter, various nullified
functions by the security of the network function become effective.
Therefore, be careful enough after it consults with your network
administrator when you set it as follows.
In "Exception" setting, change scope if necessary. The scope can
be specified with [Change scope ...] button.
If necessary, please separate the PC which is installed i CELL
from the outside network.
This chapter describes the method of setting the Windows Firewall for the
following five types of operations.
(1) Stand-alone
This is the following operation;
- One i CELL server and several CNCs are used.
Please refer to the following section;
"I.3.1 Common setting".

  • Page 4I Setting for Windows XP Service Pack 2 This chapter explains setting procedure to operate FANUC CIMPLICITY i CELL (i CELL) on the PC which installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). There are the following two kinds of procedure to operate i CELL by Windows XP SP2 environment. A. In case of the new
  • Page 5I.1 Installation of CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1 Service Pack 4 It is necessary to install CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1 Service Pack 4 (SP4) and the Hotfix 072105_22989_6104 to use CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1 with Windows XP SP2. Please install each file after installing CIMPLICITY HMI 6.1. The following two files are required;
