In this manual, the specifications and the connection diagram of High Resolution Serial
Output Circuit are described.

High Resolution Serial Output Circuit consists of a circuit which interpolates analog
signals from a encoder to 512 divisions and driver receiver circuit which communicates
with CNC.
(3)Alarm detection function for CMAL
Count Miss Alarm and setting pin “SW1”
This circuit has a function of detecting CMAL (Count Miss Alarm), by checking position
data and reference signal. CMAL occurs when the data of the position data where the
reference signal is detected is different from the position data where the reference signal
was detected first after power on. So, it is recommended that there is one reference signal
in the encoder.
When the setting of “SW1” is “A”, the above function is valid. When “B”, the function is
invalid, and the alarm will not occur even if there are plural reference signals. And , the
required reference signal must be detected first after the power is on.
“A” is set for “SW1” by using shorting pin at shipping.
(4)Interface of reference signal and setting pin “SW2”
This circuit can receive two types of reference signal interface. When the setting of “SW2”
is “A”, analog type reference signal can be received. When “B”, digital type (RS-422 or RS-
485) can be received.
“A” is set for “SW2” by using shorting pin at shipping.
Setting pin “SW2” is added on PCB version 06D or later.
