Explanation
- Operation at compensation start-up and cancellation
Unlike tool side compensation the operation performed at leading edge compensation
start-up and cancellation does not vary. When G41.3 is specified, the tool is moved by
the amount of compensation (V
C
) in the plane formed by the movement vector (V
M
) of
the block after a G41.3 block and the tool vector (V
T
) obtained at the time of G41.3
specification. The tool movement is perpendicular to the tool vector. When G40 is
specified, the tool is moved to cancel VC. The following illustrates how the
compensation is performed.
(1) When the tool vector is inclined in the direction the tool moves

- Operation in the compensation mode
The tool center moves so that a compensation vector (V
C
) perpendicular to the tool vector
(V
T
) is created in the plane formed by the tool vector (V
T
) at the end point of each block
and the movement vector (V
M
) of the next block.
