8 EMERGENCY STOP SIGNAL
8.1 GENERAL
Using the emergency stop signal effectively enables the design of
safe machines
The emergency stop signal is provided to bring a machine to an
emergency stop. It must be input to the PDSA and servo amplifier.
An emergency stop signal is usually generated by closing the B
contact of a pushbutton switch.
8.2 PDSA
When the emergency stop signal (*ESP) contact is closed, the PDSA
enters the emergency stop released state, such that the servo and
spindle motors can be controlled and operated.
When the emergency stop signal (*ESP) contact opens, the PDSA is
reset and enters the emergency stop state, and the servo motors are
decelerated to a stopped.
The PDSA must be supplied with an emergency stop signal from
the built-in I/O module.
