14. TOOL COMPENSATION FUNCTION
B–63832EN/01
NC FUNCTION
164
Cutter radius compensation is done on XY, ZX, YZ planes and on parallel
axes of X, Y, Z axes.
Plane to perform cutter radius compensation is selected with G17, G18,
G19.
G17 : Xp-Yp plane
G18 : Zp-Xp plane
G19 : Yp-Zp plane
where
Xp : X axis or its parallel axis
Yp : Y axis or its parallel axis
Zp : Z axis or its parallel axis
Parameters are used to set which parallel axis of the X, Y, Z axes is to be
the additional axis.
Plane to perform cutter radius compensation is decided in the axis address
commanded in the G17, G18, or G19 block.
Example)
(U, V, W axes are parallel axes of X, Y, Z axes respectively)
G17 X_ ; XY plane
G17 U_ W_ ; UV plane
G19 Y_ W_ ; YW plane
If axis address of Xp, Yp, or Zp was omitted, compensation plane is
decided regarding that X, Y, or Z was omitted.
Tool overcutting is called ’interference’. This function checks whether
interference occurs, if cutter radius compensation is performed.
