Re-installation of OS
In case of Windows NT 4.0, FANUC ships the CD-ROM and three Setup Disks as the OS
media for PC-integrated i-Series and Intelligent Terminal Type 2 of Open CNC(hereafter,
"Device"). When you re-install Windows NT to the hard disk, you will use these Setup Disks in
order to boot the OS and let the OS recognize the CD-ROM drive. At this time, PCMCIA SCSI
card and CD-ROM drive having the SCSI interface are required as the hardware.
As for the hardware used at re-installation of Windows NT 4.0, FANUC has checked the
following items.
a. PCMCIA SCSI card
Adaptec APA-1460x SlimSCSI
(In order to connect the one of the following CD-ROM drives, the special cable is
required. The ordering No. of Adaptec is ACK/ASI-H.)
b. Portable CD-ROM drives (SCSI interface)
Panasonic KXL-810AN
PIONEER PCP-PR24W
I-O DATA CDPS-PX24/PCSC
After connecting these hardware properly to the PC module of the Open CNC, boot Windows
NT from the Setup Disks and install the OS.
