3.4. Modifications of Laser Gas Composition
(CO2:He:N2 Volume Ratio)
Conventional Type：5:40:55 (N2 Balance) → Level-up Type：5:60:35 (He Balance)
Caution: If conventional gas composition is used, The alarm will be generated at the
start of the electrical discharge.
Detail specification of laser gas for level-up type
1) Composition ratio and required accuracy of each gas
CO2 5±0.25%
He 60±3% (He Balance)
N2 35±1.75%
2) Moisture (H2O) 5 ppm or lower
3) Hydrocarbon (Cn Hm) 1 ppm or lower
4) Gas Purity 99.99% or higher
3.5. Dimensions and Design
In order to maintain the machine-matching compatibility with the conventional type of C2000-E,
there is no modification of basic dimensions for level-up type such as outer dimensions, laser
beam outlet position, positions of screws for machine attachment, and also positions of
connections for cooling water, laser gas and power cables. (However, requires FS16i-LB for
control.)
Meanwhile, level-up type C2000-E adopted the new FANUC Laser designs which is applied
since C5000-E, C6000-E development. (See below)
