1. OVERVIEW
1.1 Overview
Remote Diagnostic Function enables Personal Computer(PC) as a service terminal to
download/upload data to/from FANUC Series 15i/16i/18i/21i connected via telephone line.
（Note）In this description, modem card and digital data card are called “Modem Card”
in general.
1.2 Features
(1) Modem Card is inserted to the socket on the front side of CNC LCD unit to connect to
normal telephone line directly or via handy telephone.
(2) Via telephone line, the state of a CNC machine remote from a service center can be
monitored and the data in the CNC can be modified.
(3) Quick maintenance and service can be done because several kinds of information such
as alarms, parameters and programs can be obtained from service centers.
