2.3 Spindle speed control
2.3.1 General
3-path control has one spindle interface in each path, that is three interfaces as total. For example,
a work fixed at one or two spindles can be machined by three tool posts and power tools in same
time.
Each spindle interfaces (first spindle, second spindle, third spindle) is controlled by the program
command of each path independently. Which spindle is controlled by the program of which path
can be switched by the spindle command select signals (SLSPA, SLSPB). And the spindle
feedback select signals (SLPCA, SLPCB) can select which spindle sends the feedback signal of the
position coder to which path.
2.3.2 Details
(1) 1-spindle control, 2-spindle control, and 3-spindle control
In 3-path controlled lathe, the following spindle formation can be selected by the number of
spindle.
(a) 1-spindle control
Spindle interface belonging to path 1 is used.
(b) 2-spindle control (Parameter No.3703 2SP = 1)
Spindle interfaces belonging to path 1 and path 2 are used.
(c) 3-spindle control (Parameter No.3703 3SP = 1)
Spindle interfaces belonging to the all paths are used.
(2) Selecting the spindle command
Each spindle obeys the command of which path is selected by the spindle command select signals
