1.3 UPDATING DI/DO DATA FOR THE MASTER FUNCTION
Relationship with the ladder program
Ladder program processing is not synchronous with DI/DO data
refresh processing by the PROFIBUS-DP master function. So, when
creating a ladder program, the user needs to pay sufficient attention to
the concurrency of data.
Following figure is a timing diagram of the inside of the CNC when a
ladder program outputs signals.

Fig. 1-2 Timing Diagram
Upper part:
Suppose that the ladder program operates periodically to write
(1,1) → (2,2) → (3,3) to register (A,B).
Middle part:
How the contents of registers A and B in the PMC are updated at
this time. Even within one-time execution of the ladder
program, data is not written to register A and register B at the
same time.
Lower part:
Refresh processing of the PROFIBUS-DP master function is
performed cyclically to read the contents of register A and
register B.
Pay attention to the (m+1)th ladder program processing and the
(n+1)th refresh processing by the PROFIBUS-DP master function.
The timing diagram above shows that (2,2) is written to register (A,B)
in the ladder program processing, but a timing that disables (2,2) from
being read occurs in the refresh processing by the PROFIBUS-DP
master function.
