Chapter 1.
Introduction
1.1. Outline
The Sauter –Turret has an inner and outer circle of tool posts (see Appendix A.) and with the function
“2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset” it’s possible to compensate the difference between an internal master tool post
and all other tool posts (slaves). The problem is that the automatic measurement functions “Direct Input of
Tool Offset Value” and “Direct Input of Tool Offset Value Measurement B” are ignore the value of
the “2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset” function.
Until, Fanuc has improved the system software GE Fanuc Europe place a disposal of a work around, which
has to provide the following features:
1. Correction of the measured tool geometry offset value during the measurement, which is
measured by an automatic measurement functions.
2. The handling of the all automatic measurement function without any additional operation.
3. The tool geometry offset data table contained real tool geometry data.
4. To fill up the 1
st
and 2
nd
tool geometry offset data by hand without any restriction.
5. The probe touch signal can be can be used for tool and tool post geometry offset data
measurement.
6. The displayed co-ordinates are corresponding to the real machine co-ordinates + the real tool
geometry offset data.
7. Any combination between turret tool post and tool are possible.
8. Fully transparent to other installed application (ManualGuide-T and ManualGuide- iT, MTB
Macro Executor Application) or is running as a stand alone application.
9. Supported up to 99 Tools.
10. Supported up to 32 Tool Posts (limited by 2
nd
tool geometry offset function)
11. Supported up to three axis in the fix order: X, Z, Y.
12. Supported multi languages by automatically selection.
13. Requested a buffer of 10 bytes of PMC D or R-Address area.
14. Requested a buffer of 20 P-Code variables in case of an embedded system.
15. Requested 10 program numbers in case of an embedded system.
The work around is a Macro Executor application must be an Auxiliary Macro and has two different parts:
1. Turret Tool Post Measurement support with the function “2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset”.
2. Correction of the Tool Geometry Offset Measurement with the following functions:
• “Direct Input of Tool Offset Value”
• “Direct Input of Tool Offset Value Measurement B”
(measurement with probe touch signals)
Note: All required options are must be set.
