1.1 PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING THE ETHERNET BOARD

FOR THE FIRST TIME

CAUTION

When the Fast Ethernet board is used for the first

time, consult with your company's network

administrator to determine the IP addresses and

other settings. Then, conduct a communications test.

If incorrect IP addresses and other settings are set,

communications may be interfered with or the entire

network might be adversely affected.

Particularly, if a duplicate IP address is set,

communication errors are caused intermittently. This

may result in a CNC's system error. To check

whether the IP address duplicates any one already in

use, see "Checking IP addresses for duplication" in

Appendix A.3, "Checking Communication."
