point return.
• The absolute Pulsecoder of the βi s series servo motor

0.4/5000iS to β
22/2000iS) is incorporated with a backup
capacitor as standard. This backup capacitor enables an absolute
position detection to be continued for about 10 minutes.
Therefore, no zero point return need be performed if the time
during which servo amplifier power is kept off for battery
replacement is within 10 minutes.
The Pulsecoder of the β series servo motors and some of the βi
S
series servo motors (β0.2/5000i
S to β0.3/5000iS) does not include
a backup capacitor. Be careful when replacing the battery for this
Pulsecoder. See [Caution No. 1 for battery replacement] at the end
of this section for details.
• The battery service life is about two years for the βi
S series servo
motors (β0.4/5000i
S to β22/2000iS). For the β series servo motors
and some of the βi
S series servo motors (β0.2/5000i S to
β0.3/5000i
S), the battery service life is about one year.
FANUC recommends that you replace the batteries periodically
according to the battery service life.
