4.4 Threading Cycles
By pressing icon on cycle selection screen,
threading selection screen opens.
Four threading cycles are available.
- Outer Threading
- Inner Threading
- Outer Thread Repair
- Inner Thread Repair
4.4.1 Outer and Inner Threading
Threading cycle is a complete automatic cycle.
For technical reason cutting start point can not be
set by teach in. To machine a thread insert data in
input mask of cycle and save data. Cutting depth
value must be inserted.
When pressing start button of machine complete
cycle is executed. Threading can be programmed
in both ways, from right to left side (cutting
performed in -Z direction) or from left to right side
(cutting performed in +Z direction) as well as
using CW or CCW spindle rotation direction.
Taper threading is possible by programming start
coordinate in X different then end coordinate in X.
Threading cycle input data
- Xs: Outer Thread Diameter X in Start Point
- Zs: Cutting Start Point Z
- Xe: Outer Thread Diameter X in End Point
- Ze: Cutting End Point Z
- P: Pitch of Thread (Radius Value)
- H: Height of Thread (Radius Value)
- D-Cut: Cutting Depth, Must be Set (Radius
Value)
- C: Chamfer Amount (Radius Value)
- Finish: Finish Amount (Radius Value)
Thread start point (Xs, Zs) should to be set
including an acceleration distance for the Z-axis.

and edit geometry data press on touch areas.
Press to return to main screen.

Example: Input mask of outer threading cycle.
Press to save data, press to return to
main screen without saving data.
In thread cutting the feedrate in mm/rev (inch/rev)
is equal to the pitch of the thread. Especially when
spindle is running at high speed, cutting feed rate
performed during thread cutting can be very high.
(Example: Spindle speed = 1000 rpm; Pitch of
thread = 3 mm; Feed = 1000[1/min]*3mm=3000
[mm/min])
Feedrate override is ineffective during
threading.
