Power Failure Back-up Module
(with control power backup function)
DESCRIPTIONS
TMS01/032E
8.5 Status Signals
The status of Power Failure Backup Module is output to signals in CX16.
Status
signal
Pin
number
Description
*ALM B1 If alarm occurs, the output driver is switched off and Power Failure
Backup Function become unavailable.
*PFL B2 If power failure is detected, the output driver is switched off.
By this signal, start retracting and servo axis stop operation.
RDY B3 When charging of Sub Module C complete and Power Failure
Backup Module become ready, the output driver is switched on.
After this signal RDY goes ”1”, proceed the operation which need
power failure backup.
8.6 Control Signals
The control signals input to Power Failure Backup Module are as follows.
Status
signal
Connector
name
Pin
number
Description
*SYNC CX16 A3 The power failure detection of DC link voltage can be
canceled when DC 24V is input to *SYNC in CX16.
(Note)
EXPFL CX15 3 This signal is used for detecting the power failure by
the external power failure signal. When DC 24V is
input to EXPFL in CX16, Power Failure Backup
Module detects the power failure. When not using
the External Power Failure Detection Function, keep
this signal not connected.
(Note) The DC link voltage is a little changed by the motor load even in normal operation.
Especially the DC link voltage may drop deeply in case that the impedance of power
source is large and all axes accelerate simultaneously. If Power Failure Backup
Module miss-detects this voltage drop of DC link as power failure, the power failure
detection of DC link voltage can be canceled by this control signal.
