(2) Control of the charging of the capacitor inside the sub module
Controls the charging of the capacitor inside sub module C. Charging of sub module C starts when
the DC link has been charged completely and the PSM enters the ready state (*CRDY=0) after the
MCC is turned ON. The charging time depends on the number of sub modules C connected. It
takes up to one minute to complete the charging (90% of the DC link voltage reached). Upon
completion of the charging, CX16 outputs the ready signal RDY of 1. After confirming that RDY is
1, change to a mode in which power failure backup operation is required. (See Subsection 6.2.1.)

(3) Control of the supply of energy to the DC link
Upon detecting a power failure, the power failure backup module turns on its internal thyristor to
discharge the energy stored in the capacitor inside sub module C to the DC link. The servo motor is
driven on this energy. (See Subsection 6.2.4.)
