10.2 STOP DISTANCE REDUCTION FUNCTION AT POWER FAILURE
(1) Check of the backup operation for the control power supply
Check the control power is maintained with a power failure backup module at power failure according
to the following method.
Turn off the main breaker (for a dummy power failure) while the motors are stopped:
The NC screen remains ON for a few seconds.
The LED on the PSM maintains the "0" state for a few seconds.
The indication on the power failure backup module changes from "0" to "0." (with a dot) and
maintains the "0." state for a few seconds.
(2) Check of the effect of stop distance reduction
While in rapid traverse movement, observe the speed changes (TSA waveform) with the servo check
board by turning off the main breaker (for a dummy power failure) to check that the deceleration time is
less than the rapid traverse time constant.

Turn off the main breaker (for a dummy power failure) when the tool is at such a position that it does
not collide with the stroke end even if the stop distance reduction function at power failure does not
work, ending with a dynamic brake stop.
(3) Spindle stop check
Check that the spindle is decelerated to a stop by turning off the main breaker (for a dummy power
failure) while the spindle motor is in the constant rotation state. The spindle runs through inertia if the
stop distance reduction function at power failure does not operate.
10.3 GRAVITY-AXIS DROP PREVENTION FUNCTION AT POWER FAILURE
Perform the check with the method described below:
(1) With the tool stopped on the vertical axis, record the absolute position on the vertical axis.
(2) Turn off the main breaker of the machine (for a dummy failure).
(3) Restart the machine, check the values of the absolute position on the vertical axis to see if the tool has
dropped by more than the backlash of the brake or the machine.
