Supplement capacitor unit
The supplement capacitor unit is used with the power failure backup module A06B-6077-H002
(200V input type) if the motor is to be operated in the DC link voltage range of 200V or less.
After a power failure, the DC link voltage is used to maintain the control power supply (24V) and as
the source of energy for motor driving. After a power failure occurs, the DC link voltage decreases
gradually; at and below the voltages given in the table below, it can no longer maintain the control
power supply (24V) and drive motors.
Control power supply Stoppage of 24-VDC output at around 200VDC

Spindle motor
120 VDC (typ.), at and above which the motors
are operable.
The minimum voltage required to maintain the control power supply (24V) differs from that
required to drive motors; motors are operable at a lower voltage. As the table above indicates, when
the DC link voltage is 120 VDC to 200VDC, motors can be driven (NOTE) but the control power
supply (24V) cannot be maintained, so that the motors become uncontrollable. The supplement
capacitor unit is used as an independent source of energy for the control power supply so that the
control power supply can be maintained in this voltage range (120 VDC to 200VDC).
