6.6 CONTROL SIGNALS
The table below gives the control signals for the power failure backup module.
Control
signal
Connector Pin number Description
*SYNC CX16 A3
This signal input is used to disable the detection of a power
failure in the DC link. By making this signal 24 V, the
detection of a power failure in the DC link will be disabled.
(Note)
EXPFL CX15 3 An external power failure signal input. By making this
signal 24 V, power failure backup operation will be started.
If not using an external power failure signal, leave this input
open.
Note: The DC link voltage can slightly vary depending on the motor load state. In particular, when the
DC link is connected to a line with high power impedance, if the motor output increases (for
example, acceleration is performed simultaneously on all axes), the DC link voltage may decrease
greatly. If you do not wish this drop in the DC link voltage to be detected as a power failure, you
can use this signal to disable the detection of a power failure in the DC link.
6.7 SETTING OF POWER FAILURE DETECTION DELAY TIME
The power failure detection circuit is provided with detection delay time so that an instantaneous voltage
drop in the input voltage is not detected as a power failure. You can set detection delay time in the range
of 0 msec to 15 msec, using SW1 located at the front of the power failure backup module. Shortening
detection delay time increases detection sensitivity, but causes an instantaneous voltage drop to be more
likely to be detected as a power failure. Detection delay time is set to 7 msec (setting: 7) before shipment
from the factor. Usually, do not change this setting.
