4.AUTOMATIC OPERATION OPERATION B-63324EN-1/03
- 116 -
- Program registration
Programs created in MDI cannot be registered.
- Subprogram nesting
A subprogram call command (M98) can be specified in a program
created in MDI. This means that a program registered in memory can
be called and executed by MDI operation. Up to ten nesting levels are
allowed in subprogram call.
- Macro call
If the custom macro option is provided, a macro program can be called
and executed in MDI mode.
NOTE
The GOTO statement, WHILE statement, and DO
statement cannot be executed in MDI mode.
MDI operation (for the FS16 type)
- Selecting mode
Set MDI mode.
- Creating a program
A program is created on the program screen. Display the program
screen by following the program display procedure explained in II-
10.1.
Create a program in the same manner as for normal programs.
The same operation as that for normal program editing is possible.
For details of program editing, see the description of program editing in
II-8.
When M99 is specified in the last block, control can return to the top of
the program once operation terminates. The use of M30, however,
does not allow control to return to the top of the program.
- Starting MDI operation
Position the cursor at the top of the program. (You can also start the
program from a desired position by moving the cursor to that position.)
Pressing the cycle start button on the machine operator’s panel starts
MDI operation. When program end (M02, M30) or EOR (%) is
executed, the created program is erased automatically, and operation
terminates.
Executing M99 returns control to the top of the created program.
- Stopping/terminating MDI operation
There are two methods of stopping/terminating MDI operation: using a
stop command in a program and using a key on the machine operator’s
panel.
For the command specification method and operation method to
stop/terminate MDI operation, see the description of automatic
operation stop/termination in II-4.6.
