7. COORDINATE SYSTEM
7.3
Automatic Coordinate System Setting
The work coordinate system is set automatically when the manual reference point
return has been completed.
In this case, set the distance Q to parameter PRSX, Y (No. 1250), so that the machine
position (top of the standard tool or the standard point of holder) after manual
reference point return becomes X = a.
It is equivalent to command the following.
G92 X45 ;
7.4
Plane Selection
Select the planes for circular interpolation and drilling by G-code.
The following table lists G-codes and the planes selected by them.
G-code
Selected plane
XP YP ZP
G17
Xp Yp plane
X-axis or an axis Y-axis or an axis Z-axis or an axis
,
G18
Zp Xp plane
parallel to it
parallel to it parallel to it
,
G19
Yp Zp plane
.
.
These are determined by the axis address appeared in the block in which G17, G18 or
Gl9 is commanded.
(Example)
X and A are parallel.
Gl7X - Y - XY plane
G17A - Y - AY plane
The plane is unchanged in the block in which G17, G18 or Gl9 is not commanded.
(Example) Gl8X - 2 - ZX plane
X-Y-
Plane is unchanged. (ZX plane)
When an axis address is omitted in G17, G18 or G19 block, it is assumed that the
addresses of basic three axes are omitted.
(Example) G17 XY plane
G18
2X plane
Gl7A AY plane
The move command has no influence upon the plane selection.
For example, when G18Y -; is commanded, Y is the axis not existing on the ZpXp
plane and the ZX plane is selected and Y moves the Y-axis irrespectively of plane
selection.
