CANNED GRINDING CYCLE
(FOR GRINDING MACHINE)
Explanations
When the multistage skip option is used, a gauge number can be specified. The method of
gauge number selection is the same as the method of multistage skip function. When the
multistage skip option is not used, the conventional skip signal is valid.
The same specifications as G73 is applied except for gauge number specification.
• Operation performed when the skip signal is input
When the cycle of G74 is performed, a skip signal can be input to terminate the cycle. When
a skip signal is input, the current operation sequence is interrupted or completed, then the
cycle is terminated.
The following shows how the system operates when the skip signal is input during each
operation sequence.
• When the skip signal is input during operation sequence (1) or (3) (dwell),
dwell is stopped immediately and the tool returns to the α coordinate at
which the cycle started.
• When the skip signal is input during operation sequence (2) or (4) (cutting
feed specified by A or B, and grinding movement), the tool returns to the α
coordinate at which the cycle started after the movement specified by W is
completed.
