CANNED GRINDING CYCLE
(FOR GRINDING MACHINE)
Limitations
• Cutting axis
The cutting axis is the first controlled axis. If the parameter FXY (No.5101#0) is set to 1, the
cutting axis can be changed by plane selection command (G17, G18, and G19).
• Grinding axis
The axis number of the grinding axis is selected by the parameter No.5179 , except for the
cutting axis. The grinding command is always specified by W regardless of the axis name.
Incidentally, it is possible to specify by the axis name correspond to the setting axis number,
too.
• P
When P is specified except by P1 to P4, the skip function is not valid.
P is valid only in the block in which it is specified.
• B
When B is not specified , it is assumed to be B=A.
B is valid only in the block in which it is specified.
• A, B, W
A, B, and W must all be specified in incremental mode.
When A and B are not specified or A=B=0 are specified, spark-out (only move to the
direction of grinding) is performed.
• H
When H is not specified or H=0 are specified, it is assumed to be H=1.
H is valid only in the block in which it is specified.
• Clear
A, W, U, and K in canned cycles are modal data common to G71, G72, G73, and G74. They
remain valid until new data is specified. They are cleared when a group 00 G code ecept for
G04 or a group 01 G code except for G71, G72, G73, and G74 is specified. P, B and H are
valid only in the block in which they are specified.
• B codes
During the canned cycle, B codes (second auxiliary codes) cannot be specified.
NOTE
1 An alarm (PS0455) is issued when the grinding axis command is not
specified in the block in which G74 is specified.
2 An alarm (PS0456) is issued when the cutting axis number and the
grinding axis number are the same.
3 While this cycle is valid, if G90 (absolute command) is specified, A, B,
and W are regarded as incremental command.
4 When P1 to P4 are specified without the multistage skip option, an
alarm (PS0370) is issued.
