Enter figure data in the same way as for contour grooving with a grooving
tool or multi–function tool. In contour grooving with a button tool, the
following figures can also be entered:
D When the figure of the groove bottom is circular
The bottom is
circular.
D When the figure of the groove bottom is smaller than the tool width
The bottom is horizontal but short.
NOTE
1 The restrictions imposed on contour grooving with a
grooving tool or multi–function tool except above also apply
to contour grooving with a button tool.
2 Grooves with a concave figure that is smaller than the
tool–nose radius of the button tool used cannot be
machined. In this case, P/S alarm 3002 is issued.
3 In corners of which figure is not round, an uncut portion for
the amount of the radius of the tool nose is left.
Machining is performed in the same way as contour grooving with a
grooving tool or multi–function tool.
NOTE
For high–speed rough machining, if a large stepping
amount is specified, there may be an uncut portion left on
the wall depending on the radius of the tool nose of the
button tool. In such a case, set a smaller stepping amount.
